   Tumult and Tranquility
Tumult and Tranquility This original work, commissioned by the Raleigh Ringers, is based on the Biblical story of Jesus calming the stormy sea. A variety of bell techniques combines with 2 octaves of handchimes to create an "ethereal and hushed" atmosphere that quickly rises to "a gentle rocking", then "a faster fury", and finally comes to a sudden fortissimo stop before finishing out with a "gentle and calm" experience.
