Although this is a "stand-alone" handbell arrangement (optional handchimes, organ and congregation) it is most effective when used as a congregational accompaniment to the singing of this favorite Christmas carol. Each stanza is treated differently with lush harmonies for unison singing and traditional harmonies when vocal parts are called for. Inserted between verses a recurring interlude appears with lullaby quality.
