The introduction of this favorite gospel song finds the bells in flute-like counter-melody above the true melody rung on chimes in the lower register. Flowing textures ensue with a final passage of suspended bells on the tune "When I Survey the Wondrous Cross." The ending is a nice change from the usual big endings, giving the listener a chance to reflect on the cross.
